Eerie Secrets of Bhangarh Fort

With its derelict buildings, ruined pavilions, medieval local markets and remnants of temples, the Bhangarh Fort offers a sneak peek into the lives of once thriving community. The deserted Bhangarh is located in the Alwar district of Rajasthan, India. 


Bhangarh fort was built by King Madho Singh in the 17th century. From the top of the fort, you will be mesmerized to see the vast expanse of surrounding area. The fort boasts numerous temples dedicated to Hanuman, Gopinath, Ganesha and Lord Shiva. It was conquered by Raja of Jaipur in the 1720s and thereafter the town was deserted.



As per the notice board of Archeological Survey of India, people are prohibited to enter the fort before sunrise and after sunset.

Pongal The Harvest Festival of prosperity

Pongal is a popular harvest festival celebrated in Tamil Nadu. It essentially marks the end harvesting season and beginning of spring season. With the end of chilly winters, the festivity of this harvest festival heralds the air. Men, women and children attired in traditional outfits celebrates this 4 days extravaganza with great enthusiasm and fervor. It's an age-old belief that the month of Thai brings prosperity and luck to people.

Four days of Pongal celebrations
The festivity begins with Bhogi, which is dedicated to Lord Indra, the God of Heaven. The second day is celebrated to pay homage to the Sun God, Surya. Third day of the festival, Maattu Pongal is dedicated to cattle, which are considered to be farmer's best friends. Fourth day of this extravaganza is observed as Kaanum Pongal, which marks the end of festivity. People chew sugar cane and visit friends and relatives home to exchange gifts.
